WMSCOG teaches that Ahnsahnghong is the Second Coming Jesus.

The claim is tied to several arguments: “new name,” “hidden manna,” “King David,” “clouds,” “from the east,” Melchizedek, and restoration of the New Covenant Passover.

Biblical answer

The Bible does not identify Ahnsahnghong as Jesus Christ.

The apostles preached Jesus of Nazareth as crucified, risen, ascended, reigning, and returning visibly. They never taught a later Korean man would become the saving name of God.

Who was Ahnsahnghong?

Ahnsahnghong was a modern Korean religious teacher connected to the movement that later became known as the World Mission Society Church of God. Public WMSCOG material teaches that he restored the New Covenant, founded the church in 1964, and should be believed as Second Coming Christ.

That is the central issue. A person can teach, reform, argue for Passover, or criticize later church customs without being Jesus Christ. Restoring a practice does not make someone God. The Bible gives the identity of Christ through prophecy, incarnation, death, resurrection, ascension, and promised return.

Foretold birthplace

Micah 5:2 foretold Bethlehem. Matthew 2:1 records Jesus was born in Bethlehem.

Virgin birth

Isaiah 7:14 speaks of a virgin bearing a son called Immanuel. Matthew 1:22-23 applies this to Jesus.

Line of David

Luke 1:32-33 identifies Jesus with David’s throne and an everlasting kingdom.

Death and resurrection

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 says Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again according to the Scriptures.

Ascension and return

Acts 1:11 says the same Jesus who ascended will return in the same manner.

Why the WMSCOG arguments fail

1. “New name” does not mean a new Korean Christ

Revelation 2:17 and Revelation 3:12 speak of Christ’s authority, victory, and glory. The text does not say the new name is Ahnsahnghong, does not tell believers to stop praying in Jesus’ name, and does not identify a future Korean founder.

2. “Hidden manna” does not prove deity

WMSCOG connects hidden manna to Passover and then to Ahnsahnghong. Even if a person argues for Passover, that does not make him Christ. In John 6, Jesus Himself is the bread of life. The sign points to Jesus, not away from Him.

3. “King David” points to Christ’s kingship, not a replacement Christ

The New Testament already identifies Jesus as the Son of David and the eternal King. Luke 1:32-33 says His kingdom has no end.

4. “Clouds” point to visible glory, not a secret identity

Matthew 24:27, Acts 1:11, and Revelation 1:7 describe a visible, unmistakable return. “Every eye shall see him.” That is not the same as a hidden religious teacher who must be explained through a private system.

Simple conclusion

Ahnsahnghong may be a religious figure in WMSCOG history, but the Bible does not name him as Christ. The true Jesus has already been revealed. The Christian faith is built on Jesus Christ, not on a later replacement name.

When the Argument Starts Doing Gymnastics

A good Bible argument should survive a plain reading of the chapter. If the doctrine only works after three analogies, two diagrams, a headquarters-approved definition, and a warning that questioning it means you are spiritually blind, that is not exegesis. That is theological parkour.

Plain Scripture beats private interpretation

Peter warns against private interpretation and destructive distortions (2 Peter 1:20; 2 Peter 3:16). A teacher may explain Scripture, but he does not get to rewrite the Gospel with hidden meanings.

The Gospel is not organizational captivity

Paul says Christ set us free and warns believers not to submit again to a yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1). Any system that uses fear to keep people trapped should be tested hard.

Jesus remains the center

The Scriptures testify of Christ (John 5:39). The apostles preached Christ crucified and risen, not a later replacement messiah with a new membership structure.

Questions are not rebellion

The Bereans searched the Scriptures daily (Acts 17:11). If asking for Bible proof is treated like spiritual treason, the problem is not your question. The problem is the control system.
